PSA: Michigan Ditch partial closure

Post by DaveLanders »

I just saw a brochure from the city of Ft Collins which indicates that part of Michigan Ditch is closed to all public use until about mid October to fix a landslide which has blocked the ditch. The closure starts at Cameron Pass, and goes until the intersection with the American Lakes trail. This is used as an approach to American Lakes, Thunder Pass, Static Peak, Mt Richtofen, Nokhu Crags, Lake Agnes and Mt Mahler. Instead of parking at Cameron Pass and walking the ditch, you will need to drive down the west side of Cameron Pass to Colorado State Forest, and use the American Lakes or Lake Agnes trailheads there. The ditch is open for use past the American Lakes trail to Lake Agnes (which is where it starts). You can see more information about this project at http://fcgov.com/michigan-ditch-tunnel
