Opting for the more scenic route back to Denver from Crested Butte, my husband and I decided to take the always beautiful Cottonwood Pass. Turning onto the pass from Taylor Park Reservoir, we were greeted by a sign reading "Cottonwood Pass Closed 2017". Good to know info for those who may be planning out next years adventures, as this pass seems to be growing in popularity

Closed for 2 years fyi. Going to miss it, saves me a ton of time between cb and Denver

I wonder how this impacts the Colorado Trail which has a major crossing at the pass summit.

The road is already paved to the top of the pass so my guess is it won't be an issue for the CDT, at least from the Buena Vista side.
