Be a conspicuously low-value high-hassle target. Park near to the honeypot convertible Ferrari with Ipads sitting in the passenger seat. Put everything in the trunk, disengage its cable (driver seat release), and put everything else under a blanket in back with something uninteresting (dirty looking sock) peeking out. Guaranteed to work 270 out of 273 years.

Tallgrass, that sounds like a pretty good idea. I generally drive a "all go-no show" 1998 Jeep Cherokee.. it LOOKS like a POS... the most valuable thing on it is the tires. :)
