Photos of Canada Lynx in San Juans

Post by vonmackle »

Wildlife Photographer James Beissel recently photographed two Canada Lynx in the San Juans. Pretty amazing! Here's a link to his blog post about his encounter:

Wow, how beautiful ! Thanks for sharing the link.

I thought I had a lynx sighting a few years back around the Spanish Peaks, and snapped a couple quick cruddy photos. CO Department of Wildlife confirmed it was a bobcat, but according to the bobcat expert there, it was "the biggest bobcat she'd ever seen". See links below.

I can't seem to get these links to work. Are your images possibly set to private?

I saw a bobcat while driving back from Estes Park last year. Although it wasn't a lynx, it was still a pretty cool experience.

Would love to see those pics but your links aren't working.

Hmmmm, sorry about the links not working. If you click on my profile, look at the two pics labeled Nov. 2006. Will try to get the pics to post here when I have a bit more time.

I was very lucky to come across one a few years ago off of Red Mtn Pass.

Very cool. I spotted what I thought to be a bobcat one morning while driving toward Homestake Reservoir Rd south of Minturn during sunrise. Did not get any pictures though.
