Me and Snyder, my 3.5 year old German Shorthaired Pointer-Bluetick Coonhound, on the summit of Mt. Lindsey. I am always so proud when he makes it to the top! He has done about ten 14ers since we moved in May '12

4 weeks ago, I adopted Bailey from the Airedale Terrier Rescue Group - she's almost 1 1/2 years old, and I'm already planning her first trip to Colorado, along with some 14'ers. A good, long hike seems to be about the only thing that wears her out!

Well, since we're posting pics of our dogs, here's my golden Rainier waiting for me on the final section up Pyramid back in 2009.

This time of year you don't have to bring dog treats.

My dog Molly and her friend Oz charging up Bierstadt
She loves the snow

She's done 8 14ers and is starting to like backcountry skiing!

One foot in and one foot back, but it don't pay to live like that.
So I cut the ties and I jumped the tracks, for never to return.

I'd like to think Jemima has clamed a couple puggy first accents! She's been up around halfdozen summits as well as a few backpacking trips...

Brown Dog and I on Quandary a few years back. Was a fun day
Wish she could still summit mountains with me. She's good for hiking about an hour and a half / two hours, now before her hips start buggin'...they get old too fast

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,

If only we all didn't need to carry water with us.
