Re: The 14ers.com dogs
Hey guys - I know there are quite a few dog lovers on this forum so figured I'd give it a shot. We found a small puppy ~4 weeks ago roaming the streets in the Highlands with no collar. We took her in as she looked like she hadn't eaten/drank anything in awhile. Took her to the vet and she wasn't chipped. We've tried Craigslist, fliers, etc.
If you or anyone you know would be interested in a small ~6 month old pit female (temporarily named Socks), please contact me as we're taking her to ddl / shelter soon if we can't find anyone. She's super sweet and fun (can run forever, hike, fetch), just can't take in another dog right now. Thanks!
Here's a pic of her and my dog on Square Top Mountain last weekend.

Re: The 14ers.com dogs
Makes me miss my Amiga :0) She's in my avatar and was my Malamute-wolf hybrid companion for 14+ yrs that I had to put down 3yrs ago yesterday. We did a lot of hiking, backpacking, peak climbing and mtn biking together. Her ashes are up on Mt. Hope now.jmanner wrote:My wolf-Husky mix Eugene on Elbert Jan 2013. He's got 20+

These are great pictures. Makes me want to get another dog. I guess all I have to do is send this link to my wife and there would be a dog in my house by the time I get home from work.

Re: The 14ers.com dogs
My Border Collie Fife and I do quite a bit of hiking, mountaineering, and snowshoeing together. I also take him on a few of the shorter mountain bike trails here in Moab a couple times a week. He also loves to swim so I've taken him in a few of the less technical slot canyons near Canyonlands and the San Rafael Swell area.
He hasn't been on any 14ers (primarily because I completed the 58 before I got him), but I've taken him on peaks in the Wasatch, Uintahs, La Sals, San Juans, and Elks. This is a picture of him on Mann's Peak during a northern La Sal traverse earlier this summer. He gets on pretty well in the mountains for a 9 year old dog who was born without front toenails.
