I'm currently enjoying Bristol's Smokebrush porter. It's definitely smokey in character; the overwhelming hotdog undertone goes away after a few sips and the drink becomes relatively enjoyable. Even better, all profits from this special brew go to the COS Smokebrush foundation. Bristol isn't my favorite brewery, but I'm continually impressed with their efforts to give back to the community.

Trinity's Pappy Legba - a 13% abv Crimson Saison. So good. It has somewhat of a cherry kriek profile, but not in an overwhelming way. One tulip glass and I'm cherry in the cheeks..

Image

Trinity's Passed Stout. 11%. Similar to Pappy, more than one glass and I'm two sheets to the wind... This beer is great! It has a full body with a very dark, hearty malt flavor. One of my favorite stouts.

Other locals I'm looking forward to:

-Trinity is in the works on a "Case of the Mondays" [a Brett series], including an Oh Face Provisional Saison, TPS Report 'Wild american bretta,' Red Swingline IPA, and Damn It Feels Good to be a Gangsta! Obscur Noir. They range from 4.1-8.1%.

-Wynkoop "Ellegance" is a ~9% Belgian Strong brewed solely by women. Brewer's Republic in COS bought a 5 gallon keg and is donating $2 of every pint sold to the Pink Boots Society. Again, lovin' the community vibe.

I'm not a New Belgium fan, for the most part, but this is a phenomenal imperial IPA.

I'll third that. Most of the New Belgium I find...lacking. This one, however, is really pretty good.

Had a few New Belgium La Folies in the past month, pretty awesome sour brown ale if you're into sours/lambics.

I recently came across a limited release IPA from Stone that has turned out to be excellent. It's called "Enjoy by 04/20/13" with an apparent nod to those who enjoy...other things than beer. I would put this in the Pliny class--very fresh, hoppy and citrusy.
