Personally I prefer thule, the new rapid aero design is very sleek and aerodynamic. It looks good and is functional. I also prefer the bike racks for thule (specifically the echelon) although, yakima's entry level copperhead mount is the cheapest quality rack in the market at $99. Thule's rapid aero has a different type of mounting system which I think is much sturdier than clip on or universal mounts. It is also MUCH easier to swap different racks on and off.

I will say that yakima's new fatcat ski rack looks nice, it is super aerodynamic. Only downside with thule rapid aero base system is that only thule products will connect to it.
