Chouinard pyramid tent?

Postby skiwall » Sat Nov 24, 2012 1:08 pm

My very dear friend moved to AK a few months ago and left me with some gear to sell for her...

One of the things she left is (I think, after looking online) a Chouinard Pyramid tent. It looks pretty fantastic. Is this junk or treasure? I can't decide... it seems like it's in good condition... is it worth trying to sell, or should we keep it just because it's a classic?

Did anybody here have one of these and love it or hate it?

WHAT SHOULD I DO? :-D

They were called Megamind I believe. Small and light for their day. No floor, one pole right? Sleeps two. SD and others still use the design. They were also popular with cyclists. I'm sure someone would be interested. How much does it weigh?

It's pretty light. It has one thick pole. It's considerably lighter than the 2 person Sierra Designs tent that I've got.

I may end up just keeping it... I had a friend with the BD betamid, which I guess is the newer version of this, and it was fantastic.
