Any plans November 16-18?

Postby Scott P » Mon Nov 12, 2012 4:39 pm

Does anyone have any plans next weekend?

I'm looking to do something (Sopris, Stanley, Sherman, ?), but it doesn't matter much. Maybe a 12, 13 or 14er? As long as it's ~150 miles or less away.

Scott - any interest in the 3 Apostles? I am not sure if we can get to Winfield anymore, but worst case it adds only 4 miles round trip.

And anyone else, for that matter, looking at doing it on Sunday, weather permitting.

I'm kicking around the idea of going to 4 Mile Creek trailhead/Mt. Sherman and doing Mt. Sheridan and around to Horseshoe Mtn.

Yes, but I'm guessing snow conditions will be pretty bad with no consolidation.

Would you consider the west side by chance? That would allow a traverse Horseshoe Mountain to Horseshoe using the Gold Basin and Iowa Gulch Routes. We should have two vehicles available.

The only reasons I'm suggesting the west side are; I've already climbed Sherman and Sheridan (calendar winter) from Fourmile; we'll have a car shuttle available and it would put in better position for the Apostles area. The Leadville Hostel is also nice and inexpensive.

Just a thought; I wouldn't want to change your plans.
