Indeed. Killing 2 birds with one ski trip ;)

For anyone interested, I probably have a place that a number of people can stay. It's on the wrong side of the range (and as such about a 2hr drive to the ranch) but likely free for the night before and/or after.

Anna/Neil,
I'd be in for a March or April ski trip.

I agree. Between this and the liklihood that the ranch will either tell us the spring date (instead of letting us choose) or not allow two pre-summer dates, I say we get Cielo Vista's response before discussing March vs. April for the ski trip. Also, thanks for the accommodation offer Bean.

Here is this evening's updated Culebra list. This time, I bifurcated it to reflect two trips -- a winter date and a late winter/early spring ski date. I'll keep the list like this from here on out for ease of planning. Plus, showing Cielo Vista that there is significant interest in two separate dates may be a good incentive for the ranch to open Culebra for both pre-summer trips. With that in mind, please let us know if your circumstances change so we can give Cielo Vista a relatively accurate count for each date. Thanks again everyone, especially to Anna and Kiefer for your logistical and planning leadership. Please let me know if anything below is not accurate.

MID-WINTER DATE

1. Neil +2
2. SilverLynx
3. Anna
4. Kimo
5. Orionthvi
6. Geojed
7. I Man
8. Mattb528
9. ScottP +1
10. Kiefer
11. Chicago Transplant +1
12. IkeB
13. Ameristrat

MARCH/APRIL SKI DATE

1. Jblyth17
2. Nkan02
3. Bergsteigen
4. Rjennings
5. SolarAlex
6. XC Snowboarder
7. Bean
8. Jbchalk +1
9. Pioletski
10. Lodgling
11. EatinHardtrack
12. Bill Middlebrook

Hello Neil,

I'd also like to join on the mid winter trip if possible.

I'm also interested in this. Leaning towards a winter climb as my schedule might not permit a March/April ski.

Thanks again for all the enthusiasm and ideas. Anna has contacted Cielo Vista Ranch with our request for separate mid-winter and March/April Culebra/Red dates. We will update this thread again once we understand Cielo Vista's position, which will likely be sometime in December. In prior years, the ranch has allowed one pre-summer ascent of Culebra/Red, limited to 20 people. We are hopeful that having several years of positive winter hiking experiences will cause the ranch owners to be more open to our multi-trip proposal, but realistic that such a result may not occur. And as usual, I for one am thankful for any access Cielo Vista provides.

In the meantime, please add your name to this thread if you are interested in a pre-summer Culebra trip and have not done so already.

Thanks!

Neil
