Turkshead Peak, Waterton Canyon

Postby boudreaux » Thu Nov 15, 2012 8:01 am

Anybody interested in doing a small un-ranked peak in Waterton Canyon on Monday Nov 19th? I plan on riding my bike the 5 or so miles into the canyon and crossing the Platte at a suitable place! A seldom climbed peak that will have tons of scrub and maybe a nice 4th/5th class finish depending on how much fun you want to have.

Maybe, but I will more than likely end up in the sawatch. What time were you thinking of starting?

I was thinking about a 8 am start, will take about 35 minutes to ride a bike in the canyon, maybe an hour to get the summit, 45 min down and 35 min out, roughly 3 hour tour, a 3 hour tour!

Turkshead Peak 7,775' , 115' rise , about 2000' of gain from the river. If any of you know LOJ, you can check it out in Jefferson County!
