Guyot this weekend?

Postby climbinfool » Tue Jan 22, 2013 9:06 pm

Just looking to see if anyone is interested in meeting up to climb Mt. Guyot this weekend (either Saturday or Sunday). Don't mind climbing it myself, but company's always good. Let me know.

We hiked Guyot via the Northwest Ridge route on Sunday. Even though there is a trench to the ridge, we needed our snowshoes. Once we obtained the ridge, I switched over to microspikes, but Ben kept his snowshoes on until about 12,800 ft. There was some firm snow on the ridge, and we both used our ice axes at different points on the way down. I have plenty of photos, since I attempted Guyot on Thursday by myself (and stuck to the ridge the entire time, making my own trench) and then returned for the summit on Sunday with Ben, so let me know if you'd like to see more of the conditions.

Have fun!

I was looking at taking the Southeast Ridge from the Jefferson side. However, I finally heard back from my brother, and it looks like I'll be goin skiing in CB instead. I know the snow's not great right now, but it'll be fun anyway. Hope anyone who connects on here and goes has a great day. Maybe another time.
