Fletcher-Atlantic Ridge Beta?

Post by Zambo »

Was out on Quandary yesterday and kept eying the Fletcher to Atlantic traverse. Looks pretty dang gnarly and could be a whole lot of fun.

Anyways, I'm trying to get some info on the route. There's quite a bit of general Tenmile range traverse stuff out there, but I can't find too much info on doing this ridge proper. I saw one post on Summit Post that had it as a max 5.7, but not much info beyond that.

Anyone out there have any info and/or ideas? Thanks! :)

The cmc guide puts it at 5.7 in one direction, or several raps in the other, with notoriously loose rock. If you just want to get between those 2 peaks there is an easy sneak across the east side of the ridge that remains above 13,000 ft.

Easy sneak, bah, do the ridge run. Yeah, its 5.6-5.7 and loose. It's a good route, really scenic, but it'll keep ya on yer toes. Definitely one of the looser routes I've done in the state. Be comfortable running it out on bad (no?) gear and really crappy rock.

We brought an 8 mm rope and took it out for 2 pitches.
