Skied the east face of Cathedral in the Elks Saturday. Was about a quarter to half mile hiking from the Castle Creek winter road closure and some skins on/off dry ground annoyances getting into cathedral lakes. Seems that the Elks snowpack suffered more from the dust than Vail/Summit zone or it was uncovered sooner. Wanted to ski the Pearl but it was a avy debris/death cookie nightmare, so we climbed it but skied the east face. Conditions never really corned up so the ski was less than ideal but a cool peak.

Re: Cathedral Peak ski
Nice job and thanks for the TR! How did the rock bulge/choke in the middle of the East Couloir go?
