So I was looking at a map and the Arapaho peaks appear to be in an area shown on the map as "Closed to off trail travel", or some such; I know people go up them; are they just being illegal?
I sure would like to climb these two...
Arapahoes Illegal?

Re: Arapahoes Illegal?
The Arapahoe Glacier side is closed to public access because it is in the Boulder watershed or some such. I'm not aware that the access from Fourth of July side is restricted... though this is all from memory so take it with a fairly large grain of salt.

Re: Arapahoes Illegal?
They are legal to climb from the Arapahoe Glacier Trail or anywhere from the west, but not from the east or north.

South and North Arapahoe are definitely legal via the ridge route from the 4th of July Trailhead. Just did this traverse a couple of weeks ago, it's a blast!
