Re: Silverton 13ers

There are MANY 13ers, difficult and darn easy to hike by day hikes, some of them in strings, from Silverton. I spent some time this winter investigating maps and Trip Reports of what is available day hiking, and came up with over 40 pretty fast. I have a folder of them, and plan to head out to Silverton June 10 for almost a week, camp near town, and see if the snow conditions allow me to get up to any one them. As of last week, a resident and avid hiker told me to wait to come for a couple weeks, or to bring snowshoes, an axe, crampons, etc. The late snow has delayed the "easy" hiking season...
