Mount Herald info needed

Post by scberger »

I have searched both the 13ers and 14ers websites but can't seem to locate any information regarding climbing Mount Herald (13er). I would be interested in any recent Medano Pass road conditions. Will be traveling from Salida, CO area so wondering where is the best/quickest way to access the Medano pass road? Also, are there good views of the Sand Dunes from the Mt. Herald summit? Any info appreciated.

You might try searching again on this site for Mt. Herard.
There might be a few TRs that answer every one of your questions.

Maybe you typed Herard into the Other Peak/Place Name instead of in Search for Text in TRs, in the Advanced Search option. For the Peak/Place name, you have to type in the exact name of the mountain, including "Mt" or whatever type it is. Even trying to type that in though, I still couldn't find any reports from the Peak/Place option, only from the Search for Text one. Maybe that's the problem.

Here's at least one TR that might be helpful..

Here's another with some specific distances and route directions.

You're just spelling it wrong. It's Herard (two rs), not Herald (with an l).

Here's the LoJ page: Mount Herard and the Summitpost page: Mount Herard.
