Champion Pt 13736 Loop Labor Day

Post by Hoot »

Let me know if you'd like to join me for a couple of bicentennial peaks on Labor Day this coming Monday. I'm considering this steepish Mt Champion-Pt 13,736 loop but am open to other ideas.

can't join you but having done this loop, I can say it is quite enjoyable. we did it clockwise, tagging 13736 first. we swung further north on the loop and took a more graduated approach on the ascent. we dropped down off Champion on the same descent line described in the TR for an ascent. it was a great day and did not see another climber the entire day.

Hoot, if you haven't done it yet, I am considering this loop for Sunday (sans Champion). Should be good/snowfree conditions since it's south facing.

The ridge between 13,736 and Champion. Much fun. 13,736 in the background
