Has anyone been up North and South Arapahoe Peaks recently? If so what are the conditions up there? Is the road open to the trailhead still?
Thanks!

Re: Arapahoe Peaks
I don't know the answer, and perhaps someone will reply who has been up recently, but I did see someone on the 14ers Facebook page had been up within the last couple days. I think he mentioned some pretty strong weather. Anyway, you might try finding him and asking.

Re: Arapahoe Peaks
I also don't have any recent info, but, FWIW, here are some photos of what it looks like in typical early winter conditions (in that case, late October - but probably similar to now:)
Creek crossing near treeline:

Slopes going up to the Baldy-S. Arapaho saddle:

South Arapaho Peak:

Traverse and N Arapaho:

We did not do the traverse.
If you do decide to give it a go, I'd definitely recommend at least spikes and an ice axe - even for just S. Arapaho. There's a portion of the trail that can get extremely icy and windblown...like a frozen swamp. Snowshoes might not be a bad idea either - the area just below treeline near the creek can get pretty deep.
Good luck!
