So, I didn't get from this discussion if we are suppose to build a cairn if we have changed the light bulb or if we didn't change the light bulb?
It looks like the ridge is just right up there!

You kids just don't realize how good you have it nowadays.

Why, back in the day, before Ray Jardine invented them, we didn't have electric lighbulbs you could just screw in.

No.

We had to use passive bulbs.

Honestly, bulb-craft is becoming a lost art in this modern world where you can just screw and go.

Didn't Algore invent 14ers before he invented the Internet? Or did I get the order wrong?

For the record, Al Gore never claimed to have invented the Internet. That was a case of a quote - like so many of his quotes - being misconstrued by someone looking for an interesting and funny story to distract and amuse us. There are some good books out there that seek to clear up some of these "distractions:" The Partly Cloudy Patriot by Sarah Vowell is a good one; A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn is even better. Sadly, no mention of light bulbs in either one.

Carry on :-D
