From one Jay to another - WAY TO GO!! You really have "come back". Awesome! =D>

PS - Is that a Norwegian Elkhound that your brother has? I had a couple of them years ago and took them up many peaks. They were my best friends...
I take the mountain climber's approach to housekeeping - don't look down

Glad you had a fun time on La Plata!

I was actually one of the people who called in SAR that day - I got word through the grapewine while on the summit that someone was having a heart attack on the south side of the mountain, and gave the Sheriff a call while balancing on a rock. As I've come to discover with other incidents in my office at work, it doesn't help a whole lot if you're not the one checking out the person in distress, so my contribution was pretty limited by lack of information. I actually didn't know you were a 14ers member - again, through the grapevine, we were told it was someone visiting from out of state!

Awesome that you went back and got it, what a cool way to celebrate the Fourth!

All I want is to just have fun, live my life like a son of a gun

Sarcasm or not, it's not even funny to post something like this. Not at this time. Reported.

Welcome back! Great to hear you're heading back up the mountains. Going to go read your last post from 2011 about your trip. My Dad had a heart attack about 50 feet in elevation from the summit of Bierstadt last summer, and had quite the ordeal with AirLife not being able to find him, etc. Certainly a terrifying situation for everyone involved I know firsthand.

Congrats!
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I think "up and back" are the key words here! Congratulations, and Good Health to you.
