New Forum Look

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Thu Apr 19, 2012 12:34 pm

I just changed the look of the forum! It isn't a ton different but it may take some time to get used to.

This was done to take advantage of some new navigation methods, plus I figured it was time for a change from that ugly old style.

Define normal!

Please remember that you can still change back to the old (prosilver) layout but it will be removed eventually so I don't have to maintain more than one.

Yeah, my forum view went back to prosilver without me making any changes.

Yup, I had to make a change on the system which required that to happen temporarily.

Sorry about that! But it should be all set now and a refresh will likely put you in the new format for good (unless you change back to the old one in your profile).

I am WAAAAY into it.
I learned about "Who is Online" today.

Seriously, though, we'll all like it fine shortly. Humans don't like change.

I like it, so you'll like it!!!!

Just kidding. I really don't have a preference on the new vs. old look, but I do fancy some of the new functionality.

And I'm pretty sure it's faster :!:

I am always amused at the people who, when told of the next Facebook change, they bellyache about how it's fine as-is and they'll protest and pout... and then get used to it.

And then a year later when told of the next Facebook change, they bellyache about how it's fine as-is and they'll protest and pout...

I say make changes, Host... we are your guests.

One functionality I'm going to miss is being able to PM or email members directly from a forum post. It helped when referencing topics. Also -- being able to view previous posts on a topic below the text box when replying.

I guess I will have to go back to the old style to be able to use that.:|

You still can. You have to hover over the member profile and it comes up as an option.

Aha! Thanks! Also, now I'm seeing previous replies below this text box. I guess I just needed to work through the kinks.
