The dogs name is Casha but we all call her Cash, we went up Pikes Peak and were camping Saturday night the 11th of August when something spooked her and she ran off, We spent all day Sunday during the PPIHC looking for her, we would like her to come home if someone could please help us. My name is Molly Wick, if you find her please call the number on her tags, and ask for Mike Sipp. Thank you

Oh man She is a super cute dog. Which campsite were you at? At least if people know the general area of where she was they might know to be a little more observant. Best of luck. Hopefully with what will probably be a good amount of campers up there this weekend she might be tempted to come around for some food. Did you call the Rangers and give them a heads up? Might be worth a shot.

Re: LOST: DOG
Post some flyers around the area as well. Including where you last saw her, and trailheads.
A trick that may work also, is to put a blanket of hers or something similar that she can smell in the area that you were camped. She may want to return to that area, and she'll stay around a familar smell.
Hope you guys find her.

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

Re: LOST: DOG
First, please say you are going to go back to look for her and not just rely on the kindness of others to do the work for you... many dogs only stray a certain distance from their "home base" so if you go back to that general area it may be better than thinking you are looking for the needle in a haystack. Post flyers, let the rangers in the area know... Good luck and be proactive!

Re: LOST: DOG
The suggestion to check around where you lost saw her is a good one. In my 10 years of Husky Rescue I've helped find quite a few dogs that ran off, we find most of them when they return to near where the last saw their people.
I wish you all the luck in finding her soon, if you need help I'm sure there are plenty of terrific folks here that will offer to assist in finding her.

Re: LOST: DOG
I can definitely put the word out with a bunch of trail runners from the area that spend way too much time on Pikes. Could you provide us with a bit more information regarding the general location of where you lost her?

Kircher, are you thinking of Team CRUD? I was also thinking of notifying them, but don't want to double post...kircher wrote:I can definitely put the word out with a bunch of trail runners from the area that spend way too much time on Pikes.
