Bill, I just noticed something that you might want to take a look at: I was on the Whitney Peak page on 13ers, & saw that its Northwest Ridge was rated as Class 5. But then after clicking on the NW Ridge link for more info, you wrote the following:

The Northwest Ridge is the easiest in difficulty, but the longest in length.

Am I missing something here? Thank you.

I think Whitney has a boulder problem if you count it as the true summit.

Yep. One class five move onto the boulder. The rest, not so much...

Routes are rated to hardest move(s).

Edit: Deuce, are you speaking from experience? If so, you should update that checklist of yours. ;)

I'm waiting until I'm really horny to make everyone "look at me!" and then I'll update them all at once.

I didn't add that specific Whitney route so I'm not sure if it's correct or not.

That boulder east of the summit is fairly easy to gain now since a rock step was built on the west side of it, but it still took two, low Class 5 moves. I could be wrong (and with all due respect to John Kirk and LOJ) but I don't think it's higher than the true summit, seen here:

From that eastern block, the benchmarked summit looked higher to me and from the summit, the eastern block looked lower, so I'm sticking with the 13,271-foot, western summit as being the top. HOWEVER, if you're going to climb Whitney, I strongly recommend climbing that block!

The new format is much improved. Thanks for the updates, all of the hipsters on this site appreciate it. Nice job as always.
