HELP! I need a picture of Wheeler Peak, NM
Every mountain my sons and I climb, I make a framed picture of us on the summit and a picture of the mountain. We hiked Wheeler this summer and I failed to get a picture of the mountain. I have looked on smugmug but cannot find one worthy. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

What kind of pics are you looking for? I hiked it this past June and snapped some shots. I've got some shots of the summit and a few from the bottom of the entire mountain. Let me know and I'll send a couple over to you.

No problem bro. Hope you enjoy. It was a fun hike and a great place in the middle of nowhere. I hope I can go back to Great Basin in the future.
Cheers,
Jimmy

Here you go...from a few years ago, but assume it hasn't changed much!

That's what it looked like last week, although the Williams Lake trail coming in from the right might be a little more prominent now from increased use. It's interesting that the highest true mountain summit in Nevada is also named after George Wheeler, but it isn't the highest point in Nevada, that distinction going to a sub-peak of Montgomery Peak that summits across the California border.nyker wrote:Here you go...from a few years ago, but assume it hasn't changed much!

Yes, the "other" Wheeler Peak in Nevada is a great climb in a cool area. See first pic. Check out that east face. Also saw a Golden Eagle near here.
Speaking of Montgomery...and the other peak you refer to is Boundary Peak: see below for shots of both: great climbs...comprising a two peak system in isolated in a desolate area in the middle of nowhere.
