Not certain, but believe this may be a Swainson's Hawk.

Yeah, I'd say its a Swainson's Hawk. Theyre pretty common.
Though it could be a juvenile Rough Legged Hawk
Some rise, some fall, some climb to get to terrapin

The helmet effect looks like a Swainson's. When and where was the picture taken?

Not as good as a bear, but this guy was haunting our feeders a couple of months back. That's pigeon on his bill.

Snakes! I see love seeing snakes along the way, though they are often hard to find.
