Challenger- Kit Carson

Postby Kiefer » 23 Jan 2013, 18:09

Would anyone be interested in attempting Challenger and possibly Kit Carson next Monday, 28th?
I'll be camping at the trailhead Sunday night. I'll probably be there fairly early too.
I've been up Challenger 7x and Kit Carson 3x.

Something tells me if I have to ask what route you're hoping to do (your TR for Capital is incredible), I can't hang...

But is this something akin to West Ridge of Kit Carson, or something more... devious?

Nah, nothing devious! :)
Just going in from the south to tag KC first & then mosey on over to Challenger.
Snowpack is pretty light in the Sangres so I'm planning on a day trip.

Sorry mtn nut, but I already have plans for Sunday that I don't want to change.

Yes, please do! And also, leave bread crumbs up the Spanish Creek drainage so I don't get lost like I always do ](*,)

K, best wishes for safety and success. I'd totally be down, but have to work.

If by chance the date changes, please post. These two on the radar.

Thx.

Matt,
I haven't done either one of these. I want to try them before spring, if you are up for it.

Will do & thanks, Jim.

Due to the weather, plans changed a bit. Hitting Missouri tomorrow. Then heading down for KC & Challenger on Sunday.
I don't want to be on the Crestones with an iffy forecast.
Princeton maybe on Monday.

Mtn Nut....Sunday it is my man!
