It would suck to get attacked by a bear, but geez, this story is almost comical.

Yeah, NINE people? I guess they all kept falling down while running, like you see in the movies with slow moving, brain eating zombies who would be proud of that kind of body count)... or none of them were wearing shoes, or maybe they had on 6" high heals? And the bear was cornered and shot by hunters? There just happened to be hunters kicking around the bus station? Who hunts at the bus station? I guess that's good stake-out in Japan.

The militants had assault rifles but were taken by surprise - police found the remains of pudding they had made to eat when the bear attacked.

Pudding/porridge... just an honest mistake on the part of the bear.
