Just another perspective on the Colorado Mountain Club (CMC) discussion...
I have been a CMC member since 2009. I met my husband on one of the club hikes in 2010 and the rest is history. Being a member literally played a pivotal role in our lives and will forever have a special place in our hearts.
In my humble opinion, what matters the most are not the folks in the office in Golden (whom I've never met), but the trip leaders who volunteer to share their love for the mountains and wisdom with newbies. Regardless of whether the leadership in Golden could have or should have done this differently, they only represent one part of what CMC is about.
