Kips in Creede has a funky local vibe. Burgers and tacos were good and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I was there in May and October so it was pretty quiet. I'm sure it's different with the summer Texan crowd in town.

Seconded, despite prices. Also, the Golden Burro for diner fare.

If you find yourself on the other side of ol' Shermy, then the Brown Burro in Fairplay has the best (tie) Enchilada Platter I've eaten, and I live in Dallas.

You wouldn't think places with "donkey" in the name would be so good...

Panchos in BV!! I live in Denver & the people that work there think i'm a BV local..... Find myself there way too much. Great Burgs, Mexican Food, & shakes. I'll second Southern Vittles in LC for BBQ!

I stopped by Kips on Friday evening before my San Luis hike and it was pretty cool.
Also had a solid breakfast at MJs the next morning and a great burger at Arps for lunch before heading to Lake city

Also, I was at Lake City Brewing Company yesterday and they had a hilarious menu. 1/2 of the menu is hot dogs/brats. Including such options as hot dog street tacos and a hot dog Cuban sandwich
