Grand Lake locals call those that work at the GL Lodge "lodglings." That's what I was when I first moved out here and what I remain at heart. My photo is me visually inspecting the old snow/new snow interface on a May powder day at Berthoud Pass.

I like alliterations. It's also the name of my blog, which focuses not only on 14ers & 13ers, but other adventures as well (hiking, highpointing, cliff jumping, shark diving, travel, etc).

My Avatar is a shadowselfie (my favorite kind) taken at the Calhan Paint Mines.
It's a mountain: get over it.

Rose, you also have that great avatar!
Angry Rose? That sounds like a great name for something!
Everyone always thinks it's made up, but Rose Angry is my real name. If I was good at anything, I'd try to get sponsored by Angry Orchard Rosé,

When I was a kid I loved the movie Jeremiah Johnson. Jeremiah was named Pilgrim by Bearclaw Chris Lapp and I liked that idea of being a pilgrim on mountain pilgrimages. Pilgrim, unfortunately, was taken. I tacked on high. highpilgrim it is. No caps required.

Del Gue called it:
"Mother Gue, the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world." And by God I was right.

Sounds kinda like a Forrest Gump issue.

Do people often try to add you to their water for electrolytes by mistake?

Hahahaha, my runners and I joked about that when we first encountered Nuun water in Breckenridge. To me it tastes like latex, but I guess some people like it. :)

People have guessed that I must play a sousaphone but that is not the case. Mine comes from a line in Temple Fielding's 1963 Fielding's Travel Guide to Europe wherein he states "As a member of an escorted tour you don't even have to know that the Matterhorn isn't a tuba." I joined this site after climbing the Matterhorn and felt compelled to announce my awareness that indeed the Matterhorn is not a tuba.

dang I would love to climb the real Matterhorn. Where's Monster5 around here? I know you all know him, but I don't, and some insight would be good. Just do it. There are others, but can't think of specifics.

Grew up in southern Indiana and Hoosiers will always be my favorite movie. My avatar is the jersey of the Hickory Huskers best player Jimmy Chitwood. Jimmy didn’t say much and my quote is one of his two lines in the movie. He could shoot the rock though and didn’t miss a shot the entire film. At least in games he might have missed one with Hackman on the playground.
