What’s your favorite piece of gear
I want to know what is your most favorite piece of gear. Wether it’s shoes, clothing, pack or what have you. Something you wouldn’t leave home without. Or would replace with the same thing

Re: What’s your favorite piece of gear
You have good taste. Spyderco PM2 would be my choice on this front.
In answer to the OP, I'd have to say probably one of the most highly used yet underappreciated pieces of mountaineering gear: the venerable Nalgene water bottle.
On the obscure end of the spectrum, I like Vaude daypacks. My 15l one is amazing, and I've used the 35l version for just about every type of trip imaginable, though they don't seem to make either style anymore.

Re: What’s your favorite piece of gear
Costco trekking poles
Dirty girl gaiters
Neo air xlite sleeping pad
Hammockgear econ burrow quilt
Ula ohm pack
Smart water bottles
Sawyer squeeze water filter
Litesmith/nitecore nu25 headlamp
Deuce of spades trowel
Cheap off brand aluminum y stakes
Driducks/frogg toggs rain jacket, and rain pants converted to rain kilt (for non-bushwacking trips)
Leukotape for blister prevention
Duct tape
I would never spend a ton on a knife, as I think that's the most overrated piece of gear, but to each his own

Seems like a lot of people's stealth favorite is "the ice ax that I don't need or even really use but will bring and hold over my head prominently in my glory pose on the summit"

One of my three Dan McHale Packs. Have not gone out to the back country or peaks without one on my back for the last eighteen years.
