If it really does bother anyone, I will stop doing it.

I was hoping that maybe others would post their updates too. I might be fun to see what everyone else is up to.
Do not stop Scott... posting or doing!

Okay, I'm intrigued by the story for Yale!! Equinox was 3.37am MDT this morning, 3/20; what time did you get back to the trailhead?

AnnaG22 wrote: Tue Dec 01, 2020 8:59 pm We kicked off the 2020 goals thread in December of 2019, so let's get rolling on 2021!

Mine:
Get to a total of 160 CO 14er summits.
Finally do my 20th 14er snowflake. Got a bunch of 13erflakes this past winter, but no 14ers. I have no intentions of doing all the 14ers in calendar winter, but I'd like to eventually have done at least 25 of them in calendar winter.
At least one more 14er ski descent.
A couple 13er skis.
>ski Grizzly couloir. Been dreaming about that ski line for years.
Do 18+ new 13ers, including finally doing Casco Peak and Mount Ouray.
Ski 30+ days.
Run another marathon.
Run another ultra.
Run at least 1,000 miles.
Run a half marathon 1h45 or faster.
At least 2 more summits outside of Colorado.
Get a COVID vaccine sooner rather than later.
EDIT: Do at least one more 14er with my mom (she has done 12 unique, 16 total).

EDIT 2: sort of mountain-related. I already have made a habit of trying to only fly once per year for my carbon footprint. I intend to continue that aspiration but am committing to purchasing carbon offsets for any flights I take starting next year. It matters. The last 3 times I've flown have all taken me to/from places with dying glaciers. Some irony there.
Update: down to the wire! I used the dryflake conditions to do Princeton 3/6 and Sherman yesterday 3/19 for my 19th and 20th 14erflakes.
Also at 24 ski days so far this season, so with 2+ months of ski season left, I'll definitely pass my ski days goal.
Hopefully getting my COVD vaccine in the next month.

- Ramp up snowflake count, especially 14ers (currently 10 & 10 for 14ers/13ers – doubling both would be awesome but very much a “stretch” goal).
Status: Success - more or less. Total of 23 winter summits: 11 new 13er flakes, 1 repeat (that part solid success); 8 new 14er flakes, 3 repeats (since the repeats were part of helping others achieve their goals I'm counting that as close enough)

- Complete several extra routes/laps of different Flatirons climbs (been loving the Royal Arch, Freeway and Buckets, but need to upgrade my climbing to move on with the long-term goal of being comfortable enough to take on the harder 13er/14er peaks/routes).
Status: Succeeding and continuing (have done several more routes with more to come!)

- Get more time practicing in the climbing gym and possibly take a class or two to up my climbing skills.
Status: Succeeding and continuing (took a rappelling class that I hope to put into action before long; also planning to get back more to the gym)

- Next summer (if not sooner) crank up big on 13ers (currently at 69. Stretch goal would be 100 but that’s probably a pretty big stretch for me, unless I get on a roll with peak clusters).
Status: slowly underway (added 3 new peaks over winter; with winter now over will switch focus to new 13ers)

- Also most likely a summer or later goal, do some more fun ridge scrambles like I did this past summer and up the ante with increasingly challenging routes.
Status: Pending (though I did work in several peaks with some fun winter class 3)

- Resume travelling to Haiti once conditions permit (ok, not mountain related per se although it’s known as the land of “mountains beyond mountains.”)
Status: Pending

- Carry on the momentum I’ve started to build of being less of a loner by actually teaming up with folks at times.
Status: Succeeding and continuing (did multiple hikes this winter with a couple consistent partners and have done a few other hikes with various others, with possible follow-on hikes to come)

- Possibly try to team up with some more highly experienced/skilled climbers to help me safely tackle harder peaks/routes.
Status: Pending

I stumbled into the parking lot just before 10 p.m. after a 6 a.m. start...although considering that I finished a quarter of the peaks I listed on a different day than when I started them, I'm counting Yale's mere sixteen hours as a victory!

Congrats on your own fourteener flakes and the ski days - I say it can absolutely start snowing in earnest now so I can get some more of my own, too!
