Anyone familiar with this trek as ‘summer’ route? Originally (1944) & still classically a winter x/c ski trip.
Great history & winter route info from Lou Dawson at wildsnow, but not much recently (besides 2007 article in Backpacker) I’ve been able to find about it as backpack trip.
General route is roughly from east start at Elbert/Massive parking lots out of Leadville, by champion mill, over the divide & Williams mntns., then down hunters creek with west terminus at Aspen.
Any experience to share about this, tips, general guidance, etc., much appreciated. Thanks
