My wife has some good ones; she met actor Jeremy Renner and NFL player Bill Romanowski (you Bronco fans will remember Romo) and didn’t even know who they were! She also hung out a bit with Jazz great, Mark Eaton (RIP). Here’s a photo, though poor quality. She is 5’0, he was 7’4”.

Re: Most famous person you've ever met?
Was on a trip to Japan and ate dinner next to Keanu Reeves for his birthday at this art hotel restaurant https://benesse-artsite.jp/en/ . Found out later that he has the same birthday as my wife (different years). The waiters were very nervous and dropped his sake which splashed all over me. Which broke the ice a bit.
Then a couple of months later he stayed at the same hotel I did. One of us was filming Matrix 4 and the other for a conference. Craziest part? I was wearing the same shirt both times!

I met Ed Viesturs at the first annual mountaineering hall of fame induction ceremony in Golden a few years back. He was there to speak in support of the first induction class. Class guy all the way.

Re: Most famous person you've ever met?
Just got to meet a few wrestlers: Ric Flair, Rey Mysterio, Sting, Booker T and Kevin Nash at the Colorado Springs Comic Cons, Titus O'Neil and Eva Marie at an event. Met Amy Jo Johnson (the original pink ranger) at the Comic Con too. Also passed Dave Bautista in the Frankfurt airport waiting for my flight to Johannesburg, like ten feet away--lol I didn't even register that it was him immediately until I a double take and saw him taking pictures with the airport security behind me .
Edit: Just remembered I also met Trace Adkins when I was deployed and Michael Moore when I was in college.

How many US Presidents climbed 14ers?
The closest I am aware of is Al Gore climbed Mt Rainier in 1999 while he was Vice President.

(He was declared winner of the 2000 presidential election a few times during that messy vote counting.)

Theodore Roosevelt climbed several mountains in Europe and the US, but I don't know if he ever climbed a Colorado 14er. He did several "safaris" around Pikes Peak, but I don't know if he ever climbed to the summit.

Oh, that counts as famous?! Cool, maybe I can start giving tours of my condo - “TallGrass slept here! ...Yep, right smack on the hardwood floor that has never seen a rug as long as I’ve owned it! Apparently it’s ‘more supportive’ than the couch. ...And over here, we have the bathroom, where TG decided to use a shaky towel rack and some stocked-up toilet paper to redecorate the room in a style I can only term ‘outhouse chic’ on the apparent grounds that I only had one functioning leg at the time and therefore couldn’t kick his a$$ as long as he steered clear of the couch that *I* find plenty supportive, thankyouverymuch!” I could make enough $$$$ from startstruck fourteener climbers to start saving, and then when I sell the place for a reasonable fortune, I can move somewhere far away without leaving a forwarding address!

I’ve attended enough indie film festivals to have chatted with people who have worked on household-name projects, but because they either had minor roles or were crew (aka the unsung and way undercredited heroes), they haven’t made names for themselves (yet?). But I’ve gotten to rub elbows with some recognizable names in horror at genre-specific fests, most notably Linda Blair. I even accepted a screenwriting award from P.J. Soles from Carrie and Halloween!
Deborah Tannen, a linguist who has written several popular general-audience books on communication in workplaces, among family members, and between men and women, taught one of my grad school classes.
My partner and I came across William H. Macy on the Capitol approach trail. My partner recognized him right off; I, having a degree of face blindness so embarrassing that I sometimes have difficulty correctly identifying friends and family members, did not. Makes me wonder how many other famous faces I’ve encountered and obliviously breezed past in the mountains and elsewhere...

Dolly Parton at a Nascar Race. I met her and told her that I was a big fan and that I was so thrilled to be meeting her. She was very gracious and took my hand in hers and said "You are so sweet, God bless you" and put a tiny pewter angel in my hand. She was absolutely genuine and her gesture was pure and kind. I am an atheist but I keep that angel on my night stand.

I met Dick Cheney once. Ironically it was at a duck hunting camp owned by the company I was working for at the time down in Louisiana. I escaped the encounter with no shotgun wounds.

Generally very few celebrities, but here’s a few:
About three dozen Nobel laureates. Most aren’t household names, but some are recognizable like Francis Crick and Linus Pauling. I met another laureate through a mutual friend and we generally got together to play music- he studied music in addition to biology.
David Hockney, one of the big names in the art world.
Was on the same plane as Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf.
Peter Eisenman, the fellow who designed the Berlin memorial.
Norm Mineta when he was Transportation Secretary, he flew in coach, I got the upgrade.
Gov. Bill Richardson on another flight, we chatted a while waiting for our luggage.
Mark Bingham of Flight 93 fame, who would co-host these Halloween parties with one of my grad school friends, costumed as a transvestite lumberjack.
Sightings of Neil de Grasse Tyson, George RR Martin, Jeremy Jones, Dianne Feinstein, George Shultz, Samuel Ramey, Stephen Hawking, and others.
My goal would be to meet One Direction.

Me too. When he was VP he used to (and maybe still does) fly into the Jackson Hole Airport to go fishing on some weekends. First they would fly in a big C-130 with his limos and entourage and get those off that plane before landing Air Force One (technically Air Force Two when the VP is aboard).
Anyway, I was working on an airport hangar project and since the Jackson Hole Airport isn't that big the two planes would take up a big chunk of the airport. Room was tight so we actually had to drive back and forth under the wing of Air Force One (Two) while we were working on the project. Someone else would drive the pickup and I would have to sit on the tailgate holding a wheelbarrow to get concrete back and forth for testing. Of course we were escorted and had to have all kinds of badges and background checks to do so. Dick Cheney would sit there and wave at us while he was waiting for us to be far enough away so he could get on the plane.
