Access to the Black Canyon

Post by flatlander88 »

What is the best way to access the Black Canyon in Eagle's Nest Wilderness? The most straight forward way by Black Lake is privately owned. Is there a good way around it?

Thanks!

You can still come in from Lost Lake or Knee Knocker Pass. I was at Bubble Lake more than 20 years ago, but my info is probably out of date now. There is probably a lot more fallen timber now too.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.
