Congrats, Dr. Dirtbag!

What about bringing AK-47 to the top of Absarokas? Aren't you supposed to do FKT in the same style as your predecessor?

No, it takes a certain kind of special to bring an AK to the top of a peak. A can of bear spray is more effective and doesn't scream for attention.

Sean already got his fill of grizzly action watching 2 adult bears and 2 cubs scamper down from ~12k on Washakie needles a few days earlier when we climbed it just before he started the FKT. Figured that was a good sign that the rest of the peaks would be a bear-free experience :-D

Exactly my thinking on Francs! There are only a couple thousand grizzlies in Greater Yellowstone, and I knew that those four were at least 5-10 miles away, so my odds were pretty good even unarmed. Honestly, the only way I like to see bears and assault rifles together is Bear Cavalry.

Congrats Sean! Great to see innovative new lines between some of those peaks.
