Grand Teton Conditions

Post by kaiman »

Hi everyone,

I am headed with a small group to climb the Grand Teton next week and was wondering if anyone here has been on the mountain recently and what the (snow, rock) conditions were like. We are planning on climbing the Direct Exum route unless it is too crowded or has unfavorable conditions and then we'll switch to the Owen/Spalding route instead.

Any beta is appreciated.

Thanks!

Kai

Seems like the blog was updated on 17th for the Exum route. Also teton backcountry rangers are some of the most friendly I have found if you call them for beta. Hopefully you find a more recent one from someone who has actually been there.

Thanks, yes I have spoken to the rangers and will again before I leave, but am looking more for climbing conditions on route this summer, which the rangers I spoke to didn't seem to have.

I’d be curious to know what you find out. A buddy and I are planning to do the Exum Direct in a day the first weekend in August.
