Wheeler Peak (NM) camping??

14ers in California and Washington state or any other peak in the USA

Wheeler Peak (NM) camping??

Is sleeping in the car allowed at the Williams lake TH for wheeler peak?? Also, what is the road like??

There is plenty of dispersed camping along the road up to Taos ski area/wheeler TH, good car camping there and only 10-20min drive to TH. Road from Taos ski area to Trailhead is easy dirt 2WD road IIRC.

Excellent couple of free riverside campgrounds with toilets along the road to the trailhead and ski area.
