SeanO smashes WY 13er record
It's Wyoming instead of CO, but since Sean is regularly active here and it's a pretty remarkable accomplishment, it should get some attention.
The existing record was set last year by Eric Gilbertson at 16 days 17 hours and used support, and Sean obliterated that with a 8 days 23 hours FKT for all of the Wyoming 13ers AND did it solo and self-supported. (I originally posted 9d23h, but it was actually 8 day 23 hr)
The Wyoming 13ers are divided into 5 groups of peaks. There is Francs in the Absarokas, then Cloud and Blacktooth in the Bighorns, Wind River peak is the lone 13er in the southern winds, the Grand Teton in the Tetons, and then 30 13ers in the Northern Wind rivers between Harrower Peak and Downs Mountain, all of which are remote with only a handful of low elevation access points, with Sean accessing them from Green River Lakes on the northwest side. The only 13ers in Wyoming that can be approached by a higher elevation trailhead is Francs, and that requires some 4WD and ground clearance for the Phelps Mountain road (and I'm not even sure if he used that or started out at the easier to access Jack Creek), and the only non-remote peak is the Grand Teton.
Either way, way to lay down an impressive FKT on a difficult set of peaks.

Congrats! I kept seeing a lot of very difficult peaks being checked in the same day in Wyoming on LoJ by 'drDirtbag' and was wondering if it was legit. I was assured that it most definitely was.
Amazing job!

I wondered the same. Seems impossible. For some, the difficult is easy,. and the impossible merely difficult.
