+1 on the Handies, and Huron recommendations.
Both are in beautiful areas and the views are great.

Re: 14er Beginner with moderate experience, where to start?
If you're doing Huron do it as a loop: Lulu gulch to standard. You will go over Brown's peak if you take a short cut up a drainage, but you can also stay on the old mining road and tag the unnamed, ranked 13er and enjoy views of Huron not seen via the standard route. From there you'll follow trail segments to Brown's, talus hop across a rock field, and rejoin the standard route a few hundred feet below the summit.
