Hi everyone,
Was seeing some trail reports of patches of snow on these 14ers and was just wondering whether boots would be recommended or just hiking shoes/trail runners? Trying to figure out what to pack onto my flight for the first week in October. Thanks everyone!

It depends on current conditions. If it stays warm and sunny until then shoes could be fine, but it's too far in advance to predict right now.
I'm slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

Chance of needing microspikes for icy trails. Long term weather forecasts dont show much early October snow yet.

Looks like we will be getting (another) dry spell into and thru October, so those peaks will probably be dry, or at least very small amounts of snow. I'd be more concerned about temperatures and if my toes will get too cold versus moisture for the first week of October.
Of course the real answer is look at the conditions/weather the day before your hike
