Doing some skiing near Frisco next week as well as some hikes - never hiked in Colorado before.
Planning on doing Elbert East Ridge (with snowshoes) - Any extra info? I assume the ideal start time is around 6:00 am/first light.
Also, I plan to do another short hike the next day... besides maybe Quandary, are there any other suggestions? I heard Silverheels or Sniktau are decent climbs year-round.
Thanks.

Re: Spring hikes near Frisco
I recommend Sniktau (13K).
It starts from Loveland Pass which is uphill from the Keystone resort, near Frisco.
The first 800 feet is steep uphill, usually windswept, so you usually dont need flotation.
But there may be snow on top of ridges. So you might want snowshoes or microspikes there.

Silverheels from Hoosier Pass is wonderful, but take snowshoes and be prepared for some up and down. That view just goes forever.

Another option from Hoosier Pass is Hoosier Ridge. There are lots of ups and downs, but you're on a ridge the whole way. Snowshoes would be helpful.
