Re: Catalytic Converter stolen in Eagle County
I'm currently looking for an aftermarket catalytic converter for my Prius; mine was stolen as well. If any of you all are knowledgeable about cars and can point me in the direction of one that would be cheap but get the job done, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Not sure if it would work for a Highlander (or at a trailhead...), but I've found a welded on skid plate to be a fairly effective deterrent.

this is, until your converter goes bad and you have to change it....kingshimmers wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 9:41 amNot sure if it would work for a Highlander (or at a trailhead...), but I've found a welded on skid plate to be a fairly effective deterrent.

Lol, just use torx bits. I bet most thieves don’t know the difference between #1 and #3 Phillips head. Re: Catalytic Converter stolen in Eagle County
so let me get this right. you are advising to have a custom skid plate manufactured, drill and tap your frame, install torx bits and torque them to 100 ft lbs??CaptCO wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 12:24 pmLol, just use torx bits. Re: Catalytic Converter stolen in Eagle County
It beats MIG welding around a fuel tank. I’ve had master techs light my own vehicles on fire because they didn’t know what the f**k they were doing. I blame the legal weed in Coloradocurt86iroc wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 12:30 pmcurt86iroc wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 12:30 pmso let me get this right. you are advising to have a custom skid plate manufactured, drill and tap your frame, install torx bits and torque them to 100 ft lbs?? seems overkill for a problem that 99% of us will never encounter...
