Where to Learn More About LiDar?

I've been following LiDar updates for a while, especially from users here on the board.

I was curious to learn more. Does anyone have links to the LiDar data or even sources for Colorado LiDar mapping? As cool as it is to get updates from others, I'd like a deeper understanding of the source data and process.

For now, the only real LiDar resource I use is Lists of John's LiDar page. Thanks!

Hi James! I responded to your PM.

Here's a couple other links. The US 3DEP program's goal is to eventually get full seamless, standardized lidar data for the entire continental US, and interferometric synthetic aperture radar (IfSAR) coverage for Alaska. I believe Hawaii will get lidar coverage.

Apparently they also have a topo map builder. Sounds like it's based off the "best available National Map data, cartography, and standards." It's possible some of these could be using new lidar data for the custom topo maps.

And if you want to take a crack at your own analysis, Eli's been more than willing to help if you have any questions about the software. I'm sure people on this forum would also appreciate the 13ers being analyzed quicker than not, and many hands make light work! Above treeline peaks are definitely a lot easier to analyze than below treeline ones.
