HOT! Woman hiking 14ers in high heels

Post by Monte Meals »

The sight would be easy to judge. A short red dress and high heels is far from the usual wardrobe worn (or recommended) by those hiking up one of Colorado’s fourteeners. :P

Does she wear stilettos when it’s icy?
Nobody climbs 14ers anymore, they’re too crowded.

I feel my leg breaking just looking at those shoes! 👠

Not stilettos.

Sensible girl.

To each his or her own I guess.

I just don't get why high heels would be considered "hot". I have always considered high heels to be a huge turn-off. I am so glad that my wife never wears them (though if she wanted to, I would still love her of course).

Trailrunners, shorts, and a pony tail. Now that's hot.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

It's to try to get a little extra elevation on the summit.

Maybe I’m a grumpy old guy but I find it to be a mockery of our hobby. It’s all fun and games on Quandary but we already read about people doing cute s**t and dying on peaks or ledges.

I don’t know. I’ll go yell at the sky now.

I don't think its a mockery at all. It may be strange, but is visionary. I met her (with her friend) on the top of Mt Sherman last Friday afternoon. Thought I had fallen off a ridge and ended up in heaven. I think the concept of doing 14ers is contrived to begin with (I love doing them) and adding twists is perfect.

This is spectacular and ranks up with the great looking hiker who used to pose in a bikini and heels on the summit. And what a welcome change from the usual Ivy League look of frumpy clothes and a scowl.

Maybe she has Vibram soles on those heels :)

Erin, if you are reading this and you plan attempt any peaks around here in the Adirondacks, it's pretty wet and icy so please bring an instep crampon or microspikes (maybe mini-microspikes) for those heels!
