Re: Quandary S&R
Thankful both incidents resulted in positive outcomes. I can't believe people think BC skiing right now is ok. Shocking. Worst snow season in years. I have a cabin at 11,300 in fairplay and the depth hoar is unbelievable. Sadly, more to come as people just don't know.

Re: Quandary S&R
That BC skiing incident was REALLY stupid.

Re: Quandary S&R
To be fair, there are plenty of relatively safe places to go BC skiing right now as long as you know what you’re doing. But no...a 40+ degree north-facing couloir is not one of them, especially one that you have to rappel into when you are not prepared to ascend the rope if need be.climbnowworklater wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 6:36 amThankful both incidents resulted in positive outcomes. Conditions aside, ending up in that position means you planned poorly and need to spend time thinking about self-sufficiency.

Never,never give up!.
Re: Quandary S&R
My understanding was the two skiers had rappelled into the Coin Slot Couloir on Mount Royal and pulled the rope so had no way of ascending the rope or climbing out once they determined conditions were not safe.mtngoatwithstyle wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 5:41 pmDo you know what couloir this person may have been found at?.
