Needleton to Chicago Basin

Post by gfallon11 »

I am planning to hike into Chicago Basin via Needleton on 6/22/21 for a 3 night stay. I have heard about hundreds of trees down on the hike into Chicago Basin. Can anyone confirm that?

As of August 2020, no. Tons of beetle kill however. A windstorm/avy could make quick work of that I suppose but I haven't seen anyone mention that.

So this confirms what you have heard. Looks like there is a large number of trees still left to be cleared.

Well with any luck someone will be careless and start a fire. That way next year there won't be any trees anywhere along the Route.
