Pikes Peak Summit House Opens 6/24

Just a PSA - the new visitor center opens today. The summit area is still a bit of a construction mess though per E_A_Marcus_949's recent conditions report. Shuttles are taking driving visitors to the top from Devils Playground until the new parking lot is completed (sometime mid summer).

These opening dates have slipped over month, so I'd take them with a grain of salt. Shouldnt affect hikers too much other than not be allowed to walk on top.

I've been up there a few times running since the road had opened. The summit is far from being even 25% completed. The new summit building looks mostly completed from the outside. You can traverse the summit from the Crags Route to Barr Trail via the new observation deck. Everything else is a SS...

Yeah, it sounds like they're hoping to have all the non-summithouse work done by September.
